Here's a little overview...
I like to keep things pretty simple. I'm not writing ground breaking new material, nor am I trying to reinvent the wheel. The underlying concepts behind all my writing is that I believe there are two very basic building blocks for health. Fuel and Movement. Give your body the fuel it requires to function, heal and perform at its best. Move your body so that it keeps you moving and doing whatever that activity(s) is that you enjoy doing.
Movement doesn't have to be structured or strenuous, just do the activity you love doing, and do more of that. It doesn't matter whether that is organised sport, hiking, paddle boarding or getting outdoors and playing with the kids, as long as you're moving.
Fuel and Movement - When you get those two in sync, everything else falls into place and the possibilities of living life are limitless.
Simple :)

About Me.
Hi, I'm Tanya and the face behind Fuel and Movement, so here's a little bit about me.
I have a passion for ultra marathon running and a strong sense of adventure. I love nothing more than running through the mountains, and having a body that is healthy enough to allow me to do so.
I started in the fitness industry 23 years ago, I had the basic qualifications but lacked the life experience. I also spent 10 years in the NSW Police Force, where I developed PTSD which saw the end of that career. When I left I was broken, not only suffering the mental side you'd expect, but an array of physical conditions that mimicked that of an autoimmune disorder. I had symptoms of chronic fatigue, my immune system was ineffective and I was constantly unwell with flu like symptoms, shingles, and skin infections. I turned away from doctors offering medications and treatments for the symptoms, and started to focus on eating nutritious foods that promoted healing. I also found that I loved trail running, and I did more and more of it. Eating nutritiously and running became such a positive force, that over time, the two things not only led me to recovery, but had me thriving.
Since those early gym days I moved on into health, nutrition and wellness coaching, and I now take a holistic approach. Fuel your body to move, and move to keep doing whatever it is that you love to do. We only get one chance at life, live it!
